The Management Committee and Aged Care Board are proud to announce Hellenic Community Aged Care has achieved an overall facility rating of 4 out of 5 stars on the Residential Aged Care Star Ratings. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our CEO and staff. Their efforts have significantly improved our residents' quality of care and satisfaction, and we are grateful for this achievement.

Advertising of the proposed building and for community comment is well underway. Once approval is received tenders will be sought for construction to commence later this year.
Financial Results
Two $1 million surpluses in a row!
HCBA has a surplus of $1,008,830 for the financial year 2023-24 subject to audit.
The Hellenic Community Benevolent Association with President Mr. Paul Afkos OAM, is maintaining a steady surplus in recent years with the day-to-day policy guidance of the Board.
The direction and guidance of Fr. Evangelos Battalis and team will facilitate the Association on a path of generating, in coming years, steady surpluses to reinvest in improving facilities and services provided to our clients.
With the appointment of the new CEO, Mr. Paul Savvas in 2024 and restructuring of Clinical and Accounts departments from July 2024, there is renewed effort to increase subsidy and other income without compromise to our residents care. We expect to maintain the same level of surplus in the financial year 2024-25.
Refurbishment of Hellenic Community Aged Care
As part of the refurbishment of Hellenic Community Aged Care, construction of boundary wall is completed. Further refurbishment activities on the western and southern ends of the facility (including new resident seating areas, shade and theraputic gardens) are expected to commence shortly with their anticipated completion by December 2025.
